One hundred participants in four meetings! A success confirmed by the record numbers of this first portion of the 2018 edition of “Artigianato & Aperitivo.”
The initiative is created by “Artex-Center for the artistic and traditional handicraft of Tuscany,” in cooperation with Officina Creativa and Comune di Firenze, CNA Firenze, Confartigianato Imprese Firenze, Oltrarno Promuove 2.0 and “Andare a Zonzo.”
Urban trekking discovering the ancient artisanal bottegas in the historic center of Florence, from the Oltrarno to the Sant’Ambrogio neighborhoods, then on to San Niccoló and the new stops we will make in the via Palazzuolo.
In May and June, both walks were fully booked marking an increase in participation that in some cases reached 50%, and included a big group of people who took part in all the tours.
The bottegas visited were Il Busseto, the Studio Arti Plastiche Joyce Terreni, the Dari Jewelry shop, Sagliano Concetti Sartoriali, the pubs La Boite, Italian Taps, Il Rifrullo and the brewery Il Bovaro.
“The initiative is having great success – says Giovanni Lamioni, president of Artex – the Florentines have greatly appreciated these events as they are a unique opportunity to get to know the city from a new and different point of view: through the historic artisanal bottegas that qualify and typify entire neighborhoods. It is a winning formula, also thanks to the cooperation of our artisans and of our tour guides, who are very knowledgeable and engaging.”
“Quality wins, it is something that a Florentine can relate to – said council member for the economic development, Cecilia del Re – and the results of this first part of the initiative confirm it. It is an innovative way to support and promote the extraordinary heritage that our artisans and their bottegas represent, but also to give a different and attractive image to some areas of the historic center that must be rediscovered and given value to.”
All the tours are organized to accommodate the needs of those who, after work, wish to have a relaxing evening and share it with colleagues, friends, with family members or even to enjoy alone, taking a walk out in the town. An expert tour guide of “Andare a Zonzo” will accompany the visitors, first to discover the neighborhood, then to visit an artisanal bottega and lastly to have a drink.
