In 1956 Piero Peroni, after having performed his apprenticeship in a craft workshop, and having attended courses on drawing and business management, with his brother Roberto, opened a workshop where they produce objects in decorated leather and hide. They create a wide range of articles, including various kinds of boxes, desk sets, jewellery boxes, frames, and furnishing and fashion accessories. The entire production is strictly hand made, with great care paid to the finish, utilizing materials of impeccable quality. In the 80s the production of the “Fratelli Peroni” also reached the foreign markets. In 1988, after a collective show in the United States, Piero Peroni became the President of the “Tuscan Leather Project”, a consortium founded in the same year with the objective of promoting Florentine fashion accessories throughout the world. The ongoing business of the workshop with its well-consolidated tradition has been entrusted to Piero’s sons, Marco and Maurizio. The workshop collaborates with famous designers including Ferrè, Fendi and Gucci, and has been actively involved in the collateral event of Pitti Uomo, “Affinità Elettive”. It has also taken part in the “Progetto Artex” for the promotion of giftware and the “Museo-Museo” project, connected with stimulating the production in Italy of objects destined to the Museum bookshops. Every year F.lli Peroni takes part in various collective shows organized in Italy and the rest of Europe, in the United States and Russia.
