Pietrasanta, where ideas “melt” together
In virtue of the cultural vitality that is its distinctive feature, Pietrasanta can bolster the nickname of “little Athens.” A haven for eclectic artists, stylists, architects looking for inspiration and lovers of good food, the town has given life to a thick web of artisanal laboratories that are in continuous movement. More than 200 workshops produce original and innovative objects: it is difficult to distinguish the limit between ability and pure creativity when looking at the surfaces of fountains, capitals, bathroom furnishings, garden decors and statues. Pietrasanta is an inexhaustible source of experimenting with raw materials: bronze, onyxes, glass, slates, semi-precious stones accompany the marbles, become one with the skill, the professionality and the unstoppable imagination of the “maestros” and their apprentices. The Museo dei Bozzetti (the Museum of Sketches) is a great example of the wealth of this project.
Here every idea, every suggestion can be brought to life and personalized according to the desire of the client or the inspiration of the artisan. If a material, a color or the expression have a limit, they lose it once they arrive in Pietrasanta and Forte dei Marmi. In these cult locations of the Italian aristocracy of the 1800’s and of the great intellectuals of the 1900’s, you too can get lost among the emotions that the “Cities of Marble” continue to generate.
