I hand paint religious icons using traditional techniques, egg tempera paints, and gold-leaf foil, like the great Old Masters did in the Thirteen and Fourteen Centuries. I make non-identical copies, and I am available to paint custom made icons. I have been studying old painting techniques since I started working as an art restorer. I believe that to properly restore and maintain a painting one must know how it was made in the first place. Gold-leaf foil painting has always stirred my curiosity. When I started reading about it in ancient Italian painting manuals like “Il libro dell’arte” by Cennino, it became a personal challenge.
