Ecodesign and cardboard furniture: Carton Factory, 100% Made in Italy "Cardboard furniture” is still a surprise to whom is reading, but Carton Factory works successfully on the development of furniture with an eye on sustainability and ecodesign since two years. This young and new company is based on the experience of a company that has been working with this versatile and eco – sustainable material for more than 50 years producing packaging. Carton Factory begins its existence in 2014 thanks to the creativity of architects and designers and the entrepreneurial spirit of the former company and focuses on becoming a brand dedicated to the esthetic and functional research which this material allows. Indeed cardboard not only allows the production of 100% recyclable furniture, but is also inexpensive, its light weight makes it easy to transport and is safe for children. Carton Factory's furniture is produced with certified cardboard, which is the best as for quality as for eco compatibility: in this kind of cardboard production for each felled tree used three new ones are planted. The cut layers of cardboard are glued with water based vinyl glues, the most eco – sustainable on the market. The cardboard used for the collections is corrugated cardboard with a thickness of 3 to 9mm or honeycomb cardboard of 16 or 20mm, resistant and lightweight. The external parts, colored or natural are covered with MDF (Medium density fireboard, an offshoot of timber) and have an esthetic function and improve the washability. The new collection focuses on Ecodesign with limited use of glue, and on accessories and furniture you can easily transport and assemble at home. The simple and clear lines, with a strong impact which identifies the brand are maintained for the new items, with vivid colors and edgy and minimal design. The ironic and creative spirit of the brand can also be seen in the Kids' collection, chairs with the shape of animals, rocking horses, accessories and decorations for the children’s room entirely Made in Italy. All products are made with sound materials to make the environment for your kids safe and exciting.
