I began my journey as a painter and engraver, and while I continue to pursue these activities, thirty years ago, I decided to experiment with glazed terracotta. This medium captivated me with its expressive immediacy and its ability to render in three dimensions what I aimed to convey in my paintings. Thus, the stories of Pinocchio, the nativity scenes, and various mythological tales came to life in tiles, bas-reliefs, and full-round sculptures.
My love for art history and its great Masters is evident in my work because they are a part of me, just as Tuscany and its landscape, where I live, are. My home is my vital space; it is here that I continue to study and work. I have envisioned welcoming those who wish to understand my world, to help them see that “working with one's hands” is not merely a skill learned over time to be perfected into art. Rather, it is the fruit of one’s personal history, offered to those who approach with a genuinely curious gaze.
