Handicraft, the Oltrarno and the most significant moments of the Artigianato&aperitivo itineraries as seen through the eyes of the young artists of the Accademia di Belle Arti di Firenze who are attending the lessons on “Languages and Techniques of the Audiovisual” coordinated by professor Massimo Rossi.
The twenty-eight students involved followed all the itineraries of the Artigianato &aperitivo tour, the initiative created by Artex and Andare a Zonzo that from March to June of last year had given Florentines the chance to re-discover small alleys, squares and gardens of the Oltrarno and to see up close the work of eight artisans, ending each time with a drink in one of the six establishments that participated in the project.
Together with Artex, the students have set up the concept, the story board and made the videos. They have worked in groups whose participants had varied geographic origins, thus allowing them to produce four videos conceived with different sensitivities and points of view.
The speakers at the presentation of the videos on January 11th are: Cecilia Del Re, councilor of the Comune di Firenze, Claudio Rocca, Director of the Accademia di Belle Arti of Florence, Giovanni Lamioni, President of Artex, Massimo Rossi, professor of the class on Languages and Techniques of the Audiovisual at the Accademia di Belle Arti of Florence, Tommaso Castelli, Founder of Andare a Zonzo and of course the authors of the videos.
“This initiative has brought to the forefront the huge communication, narrative and emotional potentials that the handicraft and its leaders can produce: this potential should be captured and developed by the artisans themselves through the use of new tools and of new expressive languages,” says Lamioni, announcing the renewal of the collaboration between Artex and the Accademia.
The president of Artex also notes that:” It will be interesting to tackle the very real issue of creating new businesses by the young graduates of the Accademia and the questions relating to the renovation of public spaces in the historic centers to be devoted to these ventures.”
