Mauro Tacconi was born a Grassina and is the son of Marco, well known master artisan of the mosaic art with hard stones. Since youth he has always shown a great passion for drawing and painting. His first approach with mosaic took place already in his childhood. In 1982 he joined the family business where he has spent much time and where also his brother Marzio and uncle Enzo work. During the long apprenticeship under the expert guidance of his father he acquired those skills that allow him to undertake experimentations with the different techniques of this art. Mauro Tacconi is able to operate with great mastery cutting and inlaying hard, semi-hard, precious and non precious stones, using tools that are still rudimental but irreplaceable because of their sensitivity and the perfection that they offer in the various work phases. In his business he has made works of great prestige and has exhibited with success his works in important national and international museums and galleries.
