Artigianato & Aperitivo: here is the program!

“Artigianato & Aperitivo”: Eight appointments of urban trekking in the Oltrarno. Themed outings in the neighborhood accompanied by an expert tour-guide at the discovery of the Florentine handicraft and of a truly authentic neighborhood. The charm of the Oltrarno, of its alleys, of its piazzas and its artisanal bottegas is the focus of this new initiative designed by Artex: “Artigianato & aperitivo” (Handicraft and Drinks).
From March until June, eight dates of urban trekking exploring one of the most authentic areas of Florence, the Oltrarno and visiting the Officina Creativa, the new space in the neighborhood entirely devoted to Florentine handicraft.
“Artigianato & aperitivo” is an initiative of “ARTour Toscana: the itineraries of the handicraft” and Andare a Zonzo, and it is organized by Artex, the “Centro per l’Artigianato Artistico e Tradizionale della Toscana” in cooperation with Officina Creativa, the Comune di Firenze , the Cna Firenze, the Confartigianato Imprese Firenze and Oltrarno Promuove 2.0.

The tours are designed as after work activities, to do with friends, colleagues, with family or alone to enjoy a stroll exploring the city and its artisanal world from a new point of view and with the explanations of an expert tour-guide.
Each appointment is designed around a specific theme and a different artisan’s bottega and offers a good pre-dinner drink at the end of the visit:

March 14: “The history of San Frediano and the bronze of Banchi Duccio Bronzista
March 21: “Liberty in Florence and the Florentine “commesso” of Mireille Valentin
April 11: “The alleys of the Oltrarno and the art of glassmaking at Moleria Locchi”
April 26: “The Vecchio Conventino and the decorated wood of Tommaso De Carlo
May 9: “The Lungarni and the bronze of Il Bronzetto
May 23: “The historic city walls and the contemporary jewelry by Yoko Takirai
June 6: “The gardens of the Oltrarno and the art of restoration of Beneforti
June 20: “The piazzas of the Oltrarno and the artisanal sandals of Calzaturificio Laudato.”

The drinks with be offered at “Bar d’Angolo,” “Birrificio Artigianale Il Bovaro,” “Dolce Vita Firenze,” “Il S. Forno,” “il Santino,” “Volume Firenze”.
